Christine is a well-known seascape artist residing in New Bern, North Carolina. Her coastal landscapes and depictions of local wildlife reflect her love for her adopted coastal home of eastern North Carolina.
Originally from Ohio, Christine retired from a career in nursing in 2017 and relocated to New Bern with her husband Rick in 2018. Together they spend time exploring the Eastern coastline, where she finds inspiration for her art at the “water’s edge”.
“I’ve always been happiest at the water’s edge. I love painting there as I find my peace and joy in the connection with the water and shore.
I have a quote that says, ‘where the sea meets soul’, and that sums up the heart of my art, too.”
A member of the North Carolina Watercolor Society, and the North Carolina and Coastal Carolina Plein Air groups, she has exhibited her work throughout North Carolina and Ohio. In addition to watercolor, she enjoys exploring creativity in oils and mixed media.
Christine’s work is available at the Bank of the Arts and Ballantyne’s Art and Framing in New Bern, at the Core Sound Waterfowl Museum and Heritage Center in Morehead City/Harkers Island, and at the Community Council for the Arts in Kinston, NC.
Christine is a popular local watercolor instructor and is available for commissions.

Testimonials:
Linda Woloszynek, Painesville, Ohio
"Is your soul dusty? Then you have surely come to the right place. Picasso
has said, “Art washes away the dust of everyday life.” And that is what
Chris’ art does for me. With a keen eye to detail and a love for creation and
creatures her paintings deliver a blessing that points to a perfection not yet
seen but hoped for. Whether in watercolor, oil or driftwood she reflects her
love of water and the many ways of representing it. My husband and I are
privileged to own several original pieces, including a commissioned piece
that I ordered for him. They are all treasures to us. Chris and her husband
Rick, who frames her work are a special gift to us and their work washes
our dusty souls."
Tiffany Scherer Avon, Ohio
"Christine’s creations blow me away! Her ability to translate raw emotion and bursts of energy onto whatever surface she uses is like no other painter I have encountered. Christine is able to touch her brush into the paint and create a vast domain of color and deep texture that touches the heart. Because her hands are so imaginative and talented, there is really nothing she can’t paint. Partner her exquisite paintings with a frame created by her husband Rick, and you will have a treasure.
We have dozens of her pieces in our home, and feel extremely lucky to have access to the worlds she creates without ever leaving our house! I can’t help but smile when I see her paintings."
Libby Schedler, Willoughby, Ohio
" I have 6 paintings that are beyond stunning from Chris. Each piece I have from her is so unique and soulful. I just can’t stop. My very first piece was a commission because the one I originally wanted got sold. If you’re thinking about it just do it. You can’t make the wrong decision when it comes to her art!"
Robin Craig, Cleveland, Ohio
" Chris has a gift for capturing and conveying the beauty of both lake and sea, as well as the boats and lighthouses which bring human endeavor to the waterside. She is making increasing use of color as she adds the vibrancy of bird and other natural life to her work. Every day my eyes rest upon one of her large heron paintings overseeing our kitchen, and I have added several smaller prints and a seascape driftwood sculpture to guest rooms - her vision adds a distinctive grace to our home.
